Emily graduated from Keele University in the UK in 1997. She has worked in England, USA and Australia. She worked at Albany Regional Hospital in the Child Development Team from 2000 until 2003 when Shiel Family Physiotherapy opened.
Emily has a focus on Physiotherapy for pregnancy and postnatal care as well women's health, continence for men, women & children.
As part of the physiotherapy profession Emily is committed to ongoing professional development and has completed her Masters in Clinical Physiotherapy, (Continence & Women's Health) at Curtin University. Emily is also a certified PINC cancer rehabilitation physiotherapist.
Emily is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association(APA), the APA Women's Men's and Pelvic Health specialist interest group, the Continence Foundation of WA (CFA), the International Continence Society (ICS) and the Continence Physiotherapy Network WA group. She has served on the WA committee for the Continence Foundation of Australia as well as providing guest lectures for the post graduate clinical masters program at Curtin University. Emily combines her clinical women's health skills with a qualification as a HypnoBirthing Practitioner to provide childbirth education courses.
